Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient healing art which carries the body's natural micro-electricity along central nervous system pathways, from the reflexes on the feet and hands to corresponding reflexes in every body part, gland system and organ. This process is activated when gentle stimulating massage is applied by the therapist.
The vitality, good health and socio-emotional wellness of our body's is dependant upon this flow of energy which creates balance and maintains equilibrium just like any well oiled machine.
How does Reflexology Work?
Our bodies already have systems of elimination which collect and evacuate waste and toxins. Sometimes the collectors in these systems get blocked or shut down. Tiny lymph ducts, kidneys, liver or blood vessels can become restricted by stress, illness, inflammation, anxiety, injury or exhaustion.
When a reflex point is stimulated it sends energy to the corresponding zone to reactivate, normalize and excrete, therefore by improving circulation, nourishing nerve endings the function of these systems can be rejuvenated.

Who can Benefit from Reflexology?
Young and old alike can benefit. However, the method of treatment should change in some cases. For example a much lighter, less indepth massage should be used for infants. Reflexology must not be used during the first three months of pregnancy. Reflexology can also be used on animals.
How often should treatments occur?
A minimum of forty eight hours should be allowed between treatments to permit the body to eliminate toxins released by the previous treatment and to evacuate them without stress. For more chronic conditions which have built up gradually, improvement may also be gradual therefore treatment once a week or once every two weeks may be required.To maintain good health and as a preventive measure once a month is recommended.
