Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) get to the root cause of health issues to address the fundamental cause of disease. We have a minimum of 7 years post-secondary education and blend the ancient healing arts with science-based medicine for an individualized and exceptional approach to health and healing.

Your visit to a Naturopathic Doctor is different. Imagine walking into a welcoming environment, enjoying some tea and not having to wait long for your appointment. Your visit is long enough that you can really explain your health concerns and you begin to understand how your body works.

Naturopathic Doctors believe that you are the expert in you, your body and how you are feeling. We are the experts in putting all the clues and pieces together to figure out what is going on. We are interested in the proper function and physiology of your body and bringing you back into balance. In this partnership we will work together to create a plan that moves you towards achieving your health goals and keeping you well for the long term.

Lab Tests

To discover why things are out of balance, we use a variety of assessment tools some of which your medical doctor routinely uses. There are hundreds of tests some of which are:

  • Conventional Blood Tests for blood sugar, iron, cholesterol, thyroid, etc.
  • Urine Testing to test your general health as well as your adrenal and digestive functions.
  • Food Allergy Testing to discover any food allergies or sensitivities that may be contributing to your health issues.
  • Saliva Hormone Testing to discover underlying hormonal imbalances.
  • Hair Element Analyses: Toxic elements can be 200-300 times more highly concentrated in hair than in other parts of the body. As a result, human hair provides us with an excellent way to look for overly high levels of such toxins as arsenic, aluminum, cadmium, lead, antimony, and mercury.
  • Medical Breast Thermography looks for potential problem areas in breast tissue by measuring the heat generated by increased blood flow and metabolic activity. Visit our news page for the updates on the next breast thermography date.

We can also request lab work done by your medical doctor.

Treatments

Naturopathic treatments are individualized to each person. Not everyone that comes in for the same health issue will get the same treatment because the reasons why you are sick are different.

Types of Treatments Include:

  • Supplementation review and recommendations
  • Botanical herbs in the form of customized teas, capsules, tinctures
  • B12 Injections for vegetarians, anemia and fatigue
  • Clinical nutrition
  • Homeopathic medicine
  • Hydrotherapy, the use of water for home treatments
  • Acupuncture
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine
  • Lifestyle counseling

If this sounds like health care that would work for you, please call 705.722.1004 or book online. We also offer a 15 minute complementary "meet the doctor" appointment to see if Naturopathic Medicine is right for you; or you can book your appointment online!
